Sephardic Oral History Project interview by Marie Berdugo Cohen. Digitized in WAV format in February 2016. Biography: Simon décida de rejoindre sa fille à Montréal, après avoir assisté au saccage de Talmud Thorah où il travaillait, par des jeunes manifestants arabes à Casablanca. Accompagné de sa femme et de ses 9 enfants, Simon arriva à Montréal le 9 Février 1967. Il servit bénévolement pendant 10 ans, 'le Service du Dernier Devoir', à Casablanca. A Montréal, il travailla 15 ans à la Hévra Kadisha, et 5 ans à Hesset Véémet (Rabbinat). Il organise les services religieux de Rosh Ashana et Yom Kippour à la Spanish et Portugueese, où il est officiant. Il est aujourd'hui au service de la Hévra Kadisha de la CSQ. Ses enfants: Charles, a une manufacture de vêtements, 'prestige et uniformes,' Maurice est dans le prêt à porter pour femmes, Joe a travaillé pendant 18 ans pour Seagram. Il est aujourd'hui un traiteur connu. Tous ses enfants sont mariés, et Simon est l'heureux grand-père de 19 petits enfants.
