- History / Biographical
- Ludwig Adolf Frank was born February 22, 1907 in Worstadt, Germany. Little is known of his life except that he was a cabinet maker by trade. Frank was interned by British authorities during World War II as an enemy alien. He was shipped to Canada with other internees and spent his time there at Fort Lennox, Ile-aux-Noix, Quebec. His British address in official documents was listed as Low Fell. In 1943, Frank returned to England. While at Fort Lennox, Frank befriended one of the Veteran Guards, Major Angus P. Cameron (1885-1952). Cameron was a volunteer in the Fort Garry Horse in 1914 and later joined the Winnipeg Rifles in France. He was injured in the trenches and was joined to the Canadian Army Pay Corp. Frank presented Cameron with a handmade wooden inlay art piece of a sailing ship, created by Frank during his time at Fort Lennox.

- Harold and Eva Levy, long-time residents of Cote St-Luc, were active community members. Mr. Levy began his career as a tailor. He later went on to manufacturing children's outwear. Items in the collection reflect the history of manufacturing in Montreal, such as the W&W pedal sewing machine. Other notable items include the 'pearly outfits' (which were costumes made for a charity event), with buttons hand sewn into elaborate designs by the Levys and their friends. The Levys were also part of the original founders of the Beth Zion congregation in Cote St-Luc. The first cheder for the congregation was held in the Levy home. Mr. Levy was also a member of the Pipe Smokers' Club of Montreal. Mr. Levy served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II.

- History / Biographical
- Ralph Novek was born to Jewish immigrant parents in Montreal on April 10, 1917. His father, Joseph Novek, left Poland in 1905 after being warned by the Russian officers that used Joseph’s father’s tailor shop that Joseph and his brother Israel were to be arrested because of their socialist Bundist activity. Joseph traveled first to England and arrived in Montreal in 1906. He married his cousin Helen Finestone in 1916. Ralph Novek married Shulamith Litman in 1939. The couple supported themselves through Shulamith’s dress designing and Ralph’s writing jobs. In 1945, Ralph Novek founded the Burns Advertising Company with Arthur Burns, running the business until his retirement. In addition to advertising, Ralph Novek also wrote radio plays for the CBC and contributed articles on theatre and progressive themes to various journals. Ralph Novek also translated into English, Benjamin Sack’s History of the Jews in Canada. Novek was related to Sack through his marriage.
