- b&w, inside the museum of Dachau. Two mannequins dressed as camp prisoner and camp guard act out a scene of torture. The prisoner is being flogged by the guard: his upper body is strapped onto a wooden torture table and his feet are encased in a wooden box. A stained-glass-type painting in the background shows a naked, emaciated prisoner being help up by two saints. The photograph seems to have been taken at Dachau concentration camp to recreate a punishment scene. Narrative: This scene was part of the second exhibit made by the German survivors of Dachau. It was supposed to show the torture the inmates had suffered since as early as 1933.The exhibit was displayed in the crematorium of Dachau from the end of 1945 to 1950.
