- Sam Orshan is the coordinator of the Raoul Wallenberg International Movement for Humanity and worked with Vera Parnes on events organized by this group. They arranged for a monument at Place de la Cathédrale in downtown Montreal, where commemorative events are held. Events in Montreal and Ottawa draw Wallenberg-assisted survivors, Canadian politicians and diplomats. Orshan was born in Kiev, Ukraine, and is a Holocaust survivor.
