1 page, double-sided. Folded once vertically. Document is a work permit from the Lodz ghetto, issued to Estera Hajszeryk. Small b&w photograph of card holder affixed with two metal grommets on top left corner, with signature underneath. Permit is numbered 36146, indicates the subject's birthday, address and profession. She was employed as a housekeeper in the ghetto's economic department. On verso, form on left side attests that she studied to be a masseuse, is female and had been working since November 7, 1942. Printed on verso are directives on the procedure for replacing lost cards and warnings against altering the document.
Narrative: Estera Hajszeryk was the sister of the donor. She was killed during the Holocaust. This document was given by her husband to her brother after the war.
