Document is a report card issued to Salomon Heiss for the 1915/1916 school year. He attended the general elementary school in Vienna and the document designates him as Jewish. Printed grid form contains grades in multiple subjects for 4 semesters . Signature of a parent or guardian (possibly father) in right-hand column for first 3 semesters. Space left blank for fourth semester. Rules and grades legend on verso. Narrative: Salomon Heiss was the father of the donor, Erika Bloom. The Heiss family fled Nazi-occupied Vienna in 1938, after Salomon was arrested and detained in Dachau for 3 days. They survived the war in Shanghai, immigrated to Israel in 1949, and eventually settled in Montreal.
