- On recto of envelope, in Mancika's handwriting, addressed to "Weinberger Gustav / 108/101 msz." in "Maroshéviz" [which has been crossed out in black ink], Maros-Torda county. At top centre, signature of Captain Soós. At top right, one red 30 forint fiscal stamp. At top left, letter "G" in graphite pencil. Verso contains sender's address across top of envelope flap. Narrative: Donor is Elaine Kalman Naves, daughter of Gustav and Anikó Weinberger. The envelope is in the handwriting Mancika Mandula Weinberger (1910-1944) -- the first wife of Gustav Weinberger. She was killed in Auschwitz in 1944. This envelope may go with the letter dated 1944-04-17 (accession number 2014.01.81). This collection of correspondence was used as part of the research for the following book: Kalman Naves, Elaine. Journey to Vaja: Reconstructing the World of a Hungarian-Jewish Family. Montreal: McGill-Queen's University Press, 1996. Print.
