At bottom, two lines in the hand of Ilona Weinberger. At right, in Mancika's handwriting, addressed to "Weinberger Gustav / 108/101 msz." in "Maroshéviz" [which has been crossed out in graphite pencil], Maros-Torda county. At top right, signature of Captain Soós. Card contains correspondence between the Weinberger family and Gustav Weinberger, contains family updates and well-wishes. The tone in this letter is notably more anxious than previous correspondence and speaks of impending forced relocation. Narrative: Donor is Elaine Kalman Naves, daughter of Gustav and Anikó Weinberger. The letter is in the handwriting of Kalman (1880-1944), Ilona (1881-1944), and Mancika Mandula Weinberger (1910-1944) -- the first wife of Gustav Weinberger. All but Gustav were killed in Auschwitz in 1944. The correspondence was under supervision by Captain Soós. Montreal: McGill-Queen's University Press, 1996. Print.
