1 page, double-sided vertical paper, folded vertically and horizontally. Recto, in handwriting of Ersike Békés, addressed to "Gustikam" Signed at bottom right, "Erzsi" and dated "944 IV 24." Envelope: Recto, address to "Weinberger Gustav / 108/101 mszd. / Bihar / Bihar megye." At top centre, illegible signature of controller in red colour pencil. Verso contains return address and one red 30 forint fiscal stamp. Letter contains correspondence between the Békés family and Gustav Weinberger regarding the Weinberger family's deportation from Vaja to the ghetto in Kisvárda. Narrative: Donor is Elaine Kalman Naves, daughter of Gustav and Anikó Weinberger. The letter is from the Békés family to Gustav Weinberger. The correspondence was under supervision by a controller. This collection of correspondence was used as part of the research for the following book: Kalman Naves, Elaine. Journey to Vaja: Reconstructing the World of a Hungarian-Jewish Family.
