- HARTMAN, Freda Tauba (nee Aronson) September 5, 1919 – November 25, 2016 Passed away peacefully in her 98th year surrounded by her loving family at Hillel Lodge on Friday, November 25, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Hartman. Loving mother of Stephen and Marsha (Kern) and mother-in-law of Sandra (Scott) and John Kern. Proud Bubby to Debra, Beth and Alexander. Great-grandmother of Aira, Karson, Iris and Jake. Dear sister of Bernard Aronson of Montreal. Predeceased by her parents Moses and Celia Aronson and her sister Dora Verbitsky. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff of 2 West at Hillel Lodge for their exceptional care and compassion. Funeral Service will be held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, 1771 Cuba Avenue, Ottawa on Sunday, November 27 at 1 p.m. Interment at the Jewish Memorial Gardens, Bank Street. Shiva will be observed at 542 Besserer Street on Monday through Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hillel Lodge in Freda's memory would be appreciated.
