- News Story: Born 1 May 1960 in Bialystok, Poland. Emigrated 1st to New York, where he lived some years with his family. Settled in Montreal in 1893. Opened 1st Yiddish Printing Shop in Montreal. Printing shop closed in 1907, when Yiddish newspapers appeared here. Lifelong association with Baron de Hirsch Legal Aid department. and helped hundreds of immigrants and residents with their problems. Since 1915, treasurer of Spanish and Portuguese Shul 'Sharit Israel', with which he maintained close relations until last day of his life. .
