- Captain Harry Marantz of Winnipeg, Manitoba, was killed in action on August 14, 1944. He was posthumously mentioned in dispatches in a Department of National Defence release (P.N. 146-45) of February 2, 1945. He was killed in action in France on August 14, 1944. Enlisting in the army in July 1941, Captain Marantz was stationed at Military District No. 10 before proceeding overseas in May 1942 to serve as medical officer with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders. Two brothers, Sergeant Barney Marantz and Flight Sergeant David Marantz, served with the R.C.A.F.
