- Private Samuel Berger of Windsor, Ontario, was officially reported killed in action at Dieppe on August 19, 1942. He enlisted in the army in June 1940 and after training at Camp Borden, Ontario, was sent overseas in February 1941. While in England, he was transferred to the battalion headquarters, intelligence section. In March 1942 he underwent commando training. Private Berger was born in Poland.
