- Pilot Officer Meyer Schwartz of Windsor, Ontario, was listed missing and presumed dead on February 24, 1944, when the plane which he navigated was brought down by enemy fire while on a bombing mission over Germany. A memorial service was held at the Shaar Hashomayim Synagogue in Windsor.
