- Lieutenant Lawrence Cohen of Winnipeg, Manitoba, was reported killed in action on July 8, 1944. He enlisted in March 1943 and trained at Gordon Head, Shilo, Vernon and Sussex. He was one of a group of ten officers who were sent from the Infantry Training Instructors School at Camp Shilo, Manitoba, to take a more advanced course at Brockville, Ontario. In May 1944, he volunteered for overseas service as an officer on loan to the Imperial Army. At the time of his death, he was attached to the 2nd Battalion, R.W.R.
