History / Biographical: Nathan Gaisin was born in Montreal on August 14, 1906. He was a printing and advertising executive. He was married to Sadie Kert, and they had one son, Daniel. Director of the Montreal "Herald Woodward Press." Member of the Shaar Hashomayim Synagogue. Member of the Cedar Golf & Country Club. He was national president for the Zionist Order Habomin from 1950 to 1952. National Executive of the Zionist Organization of Canada for 1952. Regional chairman for the Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs (1958-1960). National chairman for the Canadian Jewish Camp Council (1953). National chairman for the Canadian Jewish Congress. Regional chairman for the Canadian Jewish Congress (1960-1971). Vice-president for Men's Association, Shaar Hashamayim Synagogue. Co-chairman for the Montreal Celebration of Israel's 10th anniversary. Chairman for CJC celebration for S. Bronfman 70th birthday. Community host for General Moshe Dayan (1958). Community host for Prime Minister David Ben Gurion (1961). He was the recipient of the Canadian Centennial Medal (1967). Recipient of the Samuel Bronfman Award (1989). Guest at the Montreal community reception for H.R.H. Princess Margaret (1958). He died on June 14, 1989, in Toronto.
