- The YMHA and YWHA were heavily involved during the war, hosting many programs for soldiers, both Jewish and non-Jewish, as well as raising funds for local military regiments and units. There was a War Services Executive Committee, a Y Active Service Club, and even a YMHA Air Cadets Squadron. The Y’s activities during 1939 to 1947 centred on aiding the war effort, and reports, operations costs, playbills and photographs from this era can be seen in this series.
