- b&w, white border. Postcard commemorating the first anniversary of the liberation of Mauthausen concentration camp by the Americans. The front shows a black and white drawing of an American flag being raised by soldiers. A man in a prisoner's uniform waves while he walks by a fat Nazi soldier tangled in a barbed wire fence. A large American flag dominates the scene. The reverse has a caption in six languages, and bears a stylized postage stamp featuring the camp gates. The sender's message is written in blue ink.
Narrative: Donor, Mr. Wehrman, was liberated from Mauthausen concentration camp (Austria) on May 5, 1945.
