1 large page, double-sided horizontal paper, folded vertically twice and horizontally once. First page contains handwriting, addressed to "Gusztikam" and dated at top right corner "Kosino 1945 VII. 20". Handwriting continues onto second and third pages, signature on right side of third page reads "?idras". Fourth page, top left contains numbers handwritten in pencil. Narrative: Donor is Elaine Kalman Naves, daughter of Gusztáv and Anikó Weinberger. Gusztáv returned from the front to learn that 34 members of his extended family, including his wife and small daughter Évike, had been deported to Auschwitz. Only one cousin returned. He remarried Anikó Schwartz and they had two daughters, Elaine and Judith. This collection of correspondence was used as part of the research for the following book: Kalman Naves, Elaine. Journey to Vaja: Reconstructing the World of a Hungarian-Jewish Family. Montreal: McGill-Queen's University Press, 1996. Print.
