Narrative: Donor is Elaine Kalman Naves, daughter of Gustav and Anikó Weinberger. The letter was written by Béla Weinberger to his older brother Kalman Weinberger (1881-1944) who was Gustav's father. Béla was a partner along with his brothers Ern?, Pal and Miklos in Weinberger Brothers' farm in Kajdano, a Subcarpathian village 10 kms from the city of Muncaks where the Weinbergers also had business concerns including a liquor store. Both Béla and Kalman were killed at Auschwitz in 1944. This collection of correspondence was used as part of the research for the following book: Kalman Naves, Elaine. Journey to Vaja: Reconstructing the World of a Hungarian-Jewish Family. Montreal: McGill-Queen's University Press, 1996. Print.
