- 1 page, double-sided horizontal paper. Recto, in handwriting of Mancika Mandula Weinberger, continues on to left side of verso. Below is the handwriting of Ilona Weinberger. Signed "Manci" and dated "IV.10" at bottom of card. At right in Mancika's handwriting, addressed to "Weinberger Gustav / 108/101 msz." in Maroshéviz, Maros-Torda county. At top right, signature of Captain Soós. Card contains correspondence between the Weinberger family and Gustav Weinberger, contains family updates and well-wishes. Narrative: Donor is Elaine Kalman Naves, daughter of Gustav and Anikó Weinberger. The letter is in the handwriting of Mancika Mandula Weinberger (1910-1944) -- the first wife of Gustav Weinberger -- and Ilona Weinberger (1881-1944). All but Gustav were killed in Auschwitz in 1944. The correspondence was under supervision by Captain Soós. This collection of correspondence was used as part of the research for the following book: Kalman Naves, Elaine. Journey to Vaja: Reconstructing the World of a Hungarian-Jewish Family. Montreal: McGill-Queen's University Press, 1996. Print.
