1 page, double-sided horizontal paper, folded horizontally and vertically. Recto, in handwriting of Mancika Mandula Weinberger, continues on to verso. Signed "Manci" and dated "IV.17". Below, two lines in the handwriting of Dori Hornstein, signed "Dori". Below, handwriting of Kalman Weinberger. At bottom, three lines in the hand of Ilona Weinberger. Several lines in the handwriting of Pali Weinberger are written in the empty space at the top. Letter contains correspondence between the Weinberger family and Gustav Weinberger, contains family updates and well-wishes. The tone in this letter is notably more anxious than previous correspondence and speaks of the impending deportations. Narrative: Donor is Elaine Kalman Naves, daughter of Gustav and Anikó Weinberger. The letter is in the handwriting of Kalman (1880-1944), Ilona (1881-1944), Pal (1908-1945), and Mancika Mandula Weinberger (1910-1944) -- the first wife of Gustav Weinberger. All but Gustav were killed in Auschwitz in 1944. This collection of correspondence was used as part of the research for the following book: Kalman Naves, Elaine.
