1 page, double-sided vertical paper, folded horizontally and vertically. Recto addressed to "Gusztikam", in handwriting of Mancika Mandula Weinberger. Left side of recto, handwriting of Ilona Weinberger. Below, handwriting of Kalman Weinberger which continues at the very top of the page, signed "Apa" [trad.: father]. Verso continues in Mancika's hand. On right side, two lines in block capital letters written by Evike Weinberger. Below, handwriting of K?rössy. Envelope: Recto, in Mancika's handwriting, addressed to "Weinberger Gustav 108/101 msz. / Borgóprund / Beszterce-Naszód". At top, signature of Captain Soós. Top right, one red 30 forint fiscal stamp. Letter contains correspondence between the Weinberger family and Gustav Weinberger, contains updates on the deportation of the Jews of Vaja. Narrative: Donor is Elaine Kalman Naves, daughter of Gustav and Anikó Weinberger. The letter is in the handwriting of Kalman (1880-1944), Ilona (1881-1944), Evike Weinberger (1938-1944) and Mancika Mandula Weinberger (1910-1944) -- the first wife of Gustav Weinberger. All but Gustav were killed in Auschwitz in 1944. The correspondence was under supervision by Captain Soós. This collection of correspondence was used as part of the research for the following book: Kalman Naves, Elaine. Journey to Vaja: Reconstructing the World of a Hungarian-Jewish Family.
