- Notes
- B&W, indoor group portrait. 28 children are photographed behind a long wooden desk; those in the front are sitting, those in back are standing. In foreground, in front of the desk, is a small wooden table with papers and cups upon it. In front of that is a shorter, smaller table with a white ewer upon it. To the left of the scene, a man sits sideways, facing opposite wall. He wears a hat and looks at the camera. Photograph is probably a class photo and the man is the teacher. Document is a postcard. Narrative: The donors parents were Meilach Magid and Yocheved Bejlach, both teachers. They came to Canada in 1921, returned to Poland, and then settled in Canada in 1924. Meilach graduated from McGill in 1929. He was the principal of United Talmud Torah School and later founded Herzliah High School in 1946.
