- Notes
- 1 page, single-sided. Document is a typed letter from the mayor of Bayreuth, Germany to Dr. Linhart, the regional economic advisor for the NSDAP, requesting his opinion on 'the right of disposal of a Jewish fortune'. Letter outlines a case of Aryanization in which a local department store with a Jewish owner was transferred into 'Aryan' hands. The mayor is declaring that he is withdrawing money from a frozen bank account on a case by case basis, to pay overdue sales taxes and for the Jewish family that formerly owned the department store. Signed 'Heil Hitler!'
