- History / Biographical
- Ben Lands was born on February 22, 1921 in Montreal. Well known in the community for his exploits on the basketball court, he played for the 1948 Canadian Olympic Team, the 1950 Canadian National Championship Team, and the Canadian Maccabiah teams of 1950, 1953 and 1957. He became the honorary captain in 1997. The national champion 1949-1950 Blues were inducted into the Montreal Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2006. He died in Montreal on January 13, 2014
