- OBITUARIES: The Evening Times Globe, April 5, 1962, Page 2 In failing health for a lengthy period, Jacob J. Baxt died in hospital this morning. He was 56. Born in Saint John, the son of the late Louis and Lena Baxt, he had been a resident of the city all his life and was a well known business executive, having managed businesses in Saint John and Halifax.. In his younger life, Mr. Baxt had been active in Saint John YMHA. He was a member of the Congregation Shaarei Zedek. Surviving are a brother, Harry Baxt, Toronto, Ontario and a sister, Mrs. Harry Marcus, Dorchester, Massachusetts. The funeral was held this afternoon from the vestry of Shaarei Zedek Synagogue with service conducted by Haazan Belzalel Silberberg. Interment was in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery.
