OBITUARIES: Evening Times Globe, August 9, 1991 Bessie Cohen of 20 Prince Edward Street, Prince Edward Apartments, wife of Sam Cohen, died on Thursday at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Harry and (Corber) Green. She had been a life long resident of Saint John and was active in community affairs. She was a member of Congregation Shaarei Zedek and Sisterhood. Her brother Louis and sister Muriel died previously. Besides her husband she is survived by one son Mal of Saint John; one daughter Miriam Watkins of Diamond Bar, Calif.; one sister Eleanor Romer of Oakville, Ont.; one brother Nathan Green of Saint John; three grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. The body is resting at the Castle Funeral Home, (Hillsley) 91 Leinster Street from where the funeral will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. Interment will take place in the Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society if desired. COHEN – At.
