OBITUARIES: Saint John Times Globe, August 20, 2001 Goldberg, Abraham (Abe) Haskell - The death of Mr. Abraham (Abe) Haskell Goldberg, of Princess Street, Saint John, NB, husband of Ruth (Gruber) Goldberg, occurred on Friday, August 17, 2001 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Bodzanow, Poland, he was the son of the late Ozer and Miriam (Cohen) Goldberg. Abraham was a well known tailor and furrier in the Saint John area, who had owned Superior Ladies Tailoring on Charlotte Street and later Princess Street. He is survived by his son, Dr. Benjamin (Judith) Goldberg of London, ON, and his daughter, Candace Goldberg, of Saint John, NB, five grandchildren, Dr. Joel (Ilana) Goldberg, Mark (Susan) Goldberg, Brian (Jody) Goldberg, Adele (Andy) Pascoe, and Hank Goldberg, twelve great-grandchildren, Rena, David, Joshua, Sara, Jessica, Alexander, Carly, Hannah, Kevin, Emma, Jacob, and Molly, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Esther Goldberg, and he lost in the Holocaust his parents and seven brothers and sisters. His sister Sarah Brym and brother Yankel who came to Canada before World War II also predeceased him. There will be a graveside service to take place on Sunday, August 19, 2001 at 1:30 PM at the Shaarei Zedek Cemetary (Fernhill Cemetery). In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate remembrances to the Saint John Jewish Historical Museum, 29 Wellington Row, Saint John, NB E2L 3H4.
