OBITUARIES: Evening Times Globe, September 27, 1938, Page 145, SB Series 93 Mrs. Tanzman Dies in 64th year – Active Member of Jewish Community Succumbs after Lengthy Illness Many will learn with regret of the death this morning of Mrs. Helen Belle Tanzman, wife of Jacob M. Tanzman, which occurred after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Tanzman passed away at her residence, 89 Elliot Row, in her 64th year, and her passing is a deep loss to the Jewish community in which she had been a highly respected and active worker for many years. Of kindly disposition, she was active in charitable and welfare work having belonged to the Daughters of Israel, the Senior Hadassah Chapter and the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Hebrew School and was formerly a member of the Woman's Council and the Hospital Aid. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Dr. Joseph and Maurice, Saint John and William, New York, and two daughters, Mrs. B. Freedman, this city and Mrs. B. Unterhalter, New York. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. from her residence with interment in Fernhill Cemetery. Rev. M. Beshkin and Rev. A. Babb will officiate. The Evening Times Globe Wednesday, September 28,1938 The largely attended funeral of Mrs. Helen Belle Tanzman was held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from her residence, 89 Elliot Row, with Rev. M. Beshkin and Rev. A. Babb officiating. Friends and relatives were pallbearers and interment was made in the Hebrew Plot in Fernhill Cemetery. Gravestone reference code(s): JM 998.61.254.
