- History / Biographical
- Bertha (nee Fickler), b. 14 Dec., 1878; d. 12 April 1965. Bertha Dinovitzer married Joseph Dinovitzer in 1901 and moved from Quebec City to live with him in Chicoutimi where he operated a successful general store, J. Dinovitzer & Cie. The Dinovitzers had four children and eventually moved to Montreal where Bertha became heavily involved with numerous organizations within the Jewish community such as Hadassah. After Joseph's death in the 1940s, Mrs. Dinovitzer was a regular donor and supporter of these organizations and many others, such as the Jewish Convalescent Hospital, the Jewish Public Library, the Jewish General Hospital, and the Cancer Research Society.
