- New Story: He was born in Goniondz, near Bialystok in 1872. Emigrated to Canada in 1892. Lived in Quebec City and had to leave due to anti-semitism. His was is the daughter of the founder of the Steinhouse Old People's Home. One of his sons is Dr. Harry N. Roback, research fellow, Mt Sirai Hospital New York. Prominent pioneer of Zionist movement in Canada; helped found Agudat Zion in Montreal, 1897. A scholar and educator; a founder of Chevra Shas and Bnai Jacob Shul. Funeral on Sun. 29 Sept. 1935, 2nd day of Rosh Hashana.
