Born in 1888, Abraham Golomb was a teacher, writer, lecturer, Yiddishist; was principal of Peretz School in Winnipeg; author of numerous pedagogical articles and books as well as those expounding his belief in the need for retaining Jewish distinctiveness in the Diaspora and the retention of Hebrew and Yiddish as the national languages of the Jewish people.
