- 1 page, vertically folded, with a b&w photograph of a Jacob Wiener wearing a striped uniform glued inside. The cover has an inverted triangle with the letter P inside of it. There are also 3 circular ink stamps with an inverted triangle in the centre. This is Jan (Jakob) Wiener's identification card for the Political Prisoners of Nazi prisons and Concentration Camps Narrative: Jakob Wiener was born on December 3, 1907, in Krakow, Poland. He was a tailor and married in January 1939. Together with his wife, he was sent to the Krakow ghetto. After the ghetto was liquidated, Jakob and his wife were separated. Jakob was sent on a death march and was shot but didn't die. At the end of the war, he was liberated from the concentration camp in Ebensee. He then returned to Krakow where he reunited with his wife who had survived Auschwitz. Their daughter Sara was born in 1947. In 1950, the family moved to France and waited for papers to immigrate to Canada or Australia. Because Canadian papers arrived first, they immigrated to Canada.
