- 1 page, double-sided. Folded once horizontally and once vertically. On both sides, paper on left side of vertical fold crease is blank. Narrative: Letter was sent to the donor Sara Birnbaum and her husband, from her family in Poland. Sara immigrated to Canada in 1932 and married. The letter was mailed from Poland to New York, then forwarded to her in Montreal. There was no mail service between Canada and Poland during World War II; as a Dominion of the British Empire, Canada opted to support the British war effort and was therefore an enemy to the Third Reich.
