- Black ink on white paper. Outdoor scene where three men are gardening inside the walls of the Jewish cemetery, amongst the tombstones. A fourth man is sitting on a pile of tombstones to their right, playing a small accordion. Narrative: All 16 of the prints in this series depict life of Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto during the Holocaust. Printmaker, book illustrator and painter, Stefan Mrozewski was born in Czéstochowa, Poland. Mrozewski's prints are in permament collections of several public art collections in Europe and North America. The artist was married to Irena Blizinska. An ardent patriot, he was a volunteer in the Polish Army in the war against the Soviet Union in 1920, as well as during the Second World War when he served in Armia Krajowa, the clandestine Polish Home Army.
