- Container for donating money to charity, converted from teapot. Cylindrical body with hinged flat lid at top. Lid has slot in centre. Thin handle on side. Latch on opposite side to keep lid closed, with hook to attach lock. Floral border at top and bottom of body, running horizontally, interspersed with vertical ridges running height of cylinder. Narrative: A tzedakah box is a receptacle for collecting money that is designated for charity. The Hebrew word tzedakah comes from the root tzedek, meaning justice. In the Jewish religion, giving money and resources to those in need is understood to be an act of justice.
