- 1 page, double-sided, folded horizontally and vertically. Two holes punched at left. Letter is written on the Weinberger Brothers' letterhead and is handwritten by Mancika Mandula Weinberger in blue ink. Recto addressed to [trad.] "Honourable Messrs Erno and Kalman Weinberger Piricse" and is dated at the top right. Verso is signed "Schwartz Lajos" in black ink and again at bottom in graphite pencil. Letter is addressed to Ern? and Kalman and is dated at top right "Nyíregyháza 1942. július 6". Narrative: Donor is Elaine Kalman Naves, daughter of Gustav and Anikó Weinberger. The letter was written in the hand of Mancika Mandula Weinberger on behalf of Lajos Schwartz who was a farm manager for the Weinberger Brothers. The letter is addressed to Ern? and Kalman Weinberger (1881-1944) who was Gustav's father. Kalman was killed in Auschwitz in 1944. This collection of correspondence was used as part of the research for the following book: Kalman Naves, Elaine. Journey to Vaja: Reconstructing the World of a Hungarian-Jewish Family.
