- Victor Goldbloom was born in Montreal, in 1923. A pediatrician, he is best known for his work in inter-faith and French-English dialogue. He was educated at Selwyn House and Lower Canada College; he got his M.D. from McGill University, 1945. He was President and CEO, Canadian Council of Christians and Jews; board member of the Regional Council on Health Care and Social Services of Metropolitan Montreal; Canadian Institute of Child Health; Center for Great Lakes; Jules and Paul-Emile Léger Foundation, Jean Lessage Foundation; Nicolet Museum of Religions; Chairman, Language Rights Panel, Court Challenges Program, Canadian Council on Social Development; former Minister of Environment and of Municipal Affairs, Quebec; Canadian Delegate to the U.N. Environment Conference in Stockholm and U.N. Habitat Conference in Vancouver; Hon. LL. D., University of Toronto; Officer of Order of Canada; served with RCAMC.
