- Abraham Mark Shinbane was born Aug. 29, 1891, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Called to the bar in 1915, K.C. in 1931. He became a senior partner in the firm of Shinbane, Dorfman, Kanee and Henteleff, barristers. He was a governor of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and honorary treasurer of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. He held positions of note in Canadian Jewish Congress, Zionist Organizations of Western Canada, Joint Distribution Committee for Manitoba, Canadian Club, etc. He was a member of the Shaarey Zedek synagogue and resided in Winnipeg.
