- History / Biographical
- Moshe Rappaport was born in Poland in 1906. He came to Canada in 1924 and first lived in Joliette where his father was a Hebrew teacher and shochet. Before becoming a cantor Moshe Rappaport worked in the needle trades industry. Around 1943, he became a cantor at the Shomrim Laboker synagogue where he stayed for 9 years. He died of cancer in 1952, at the age of 44.
