Notes
Parchment with handwritten Hebrew text rolled onto two scrolls. Scrolls are wooden, with carved circular ridges and thin handles. Scrolls are in blue velvet bag with small upper portion of parchment and wooden handles exposed. Silver breastplate hangs at top centre of bag, supported by silver chain hung over wooden handles. Breastplate is shaped like two tablets, connected at sides, with rounded tops. On each tablet, Hebrew text is engraved on top half. Bottom half has a Star of David engraved over a diagonal engraved olive branch. Narrative: Provenance of object is a Persian synagogue in Italy, 19th c.
