- OBITUARIES: Saint John Globe, June 27, 1924, Page 2 Recent Deaths Charles Goldberg Charles Goldberg who went from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Newcastle three years ago, died at the Miramichi Hospital, Tuesday, aged 26 years. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Lizzie Grosman, Newcastle and one child. The body was taken to St. John on Wednesday for interment. Mr. Goldberg came here from Milwaukee, Wis. about three years ago and conducted a beer and grocery store in McCullam Street. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Lizzie Grossman of Newcastle and one child. The body was taken to St. John on Wednesday for interment. - OBITUARIES: Evening Times Globe, July 21, 1933, Page 9 Mrs. Myer Levine Passes in Hospital Friends throughout the city and elsewhere will learn of regret of the death of Mrs. Myer Levine, 27 Long Wharf, which occurred yesterday at the General Hospital. An infant son, which had been born to Mrs. Levine also died. Mrs. Levine was a daughter of Bella Zekkerman [sic - Zebberman], formerly of Saint John, now of Halifax. She was in her twenty-first year and had been married September 4 of last year. For some time before her marriage she had been in the employ of Hoffman Bros., Main Street. She leaves to mourn besides her husband and mother, six sisters, Mrs. L. Horowitz of Saint John, Mrs. Sam Goodman, Halifax, Mrs. H. Valensky, Fredericton, Mrs. M. Baig and Mrs. A. Baig, both of Amherst and Misses Rose and Edith, both of Halifax; four brothers, Frank Zekkerman [sic] and Eli, of Halifax, Sam of Fredericton and Harry of Saint John. The funeral was held this afternoon from Mrs. Levine's late residence with Rev. A. Babb officiating. Interment was made in the Hebrew Cemetery. Gravestone reference code(s): JM 998.61.148.
