- Notes
- Corporal Harold Glatt, of Ottawa, Ontario, enlisted in the Canadian army in June 1940. He was listed as missing following the sinking of the S.S. Nerissa, which had been torpedoed by a German U-boat. Sergeant Glatt had been en route to England at the time of the sinking. The Halifax Memorial in Nova Scotia’s capital, erected in Point Pleasant Park, is one of the few tangible reminders of the men who died at sea.
