The bottom cap has an open space for the plunger; the top cap has a thin, tapered catheter tip extending from the centre, where the needle attaches. A series of numbers and lines are engraved and painted on the barrel surface (see inscription). The plunger is a solid metal cylinder with a slightly pointed tip attached to a thin metal pole with a flat end. The box has beveled edges. The bottom part is lined with a piece of paper with German text (see inscription). Sitting on top is a metal tray with different shape and sized holes cut out, and several metal tabs poitning upwards, to keep the barrel and plunger in place.
